So, as usual, there is no right way for the president in the eyes of those who blindly oppose him. He will be painted in the worst light by them no matter what he chooses to do.

People are completely delusional if they think this is a victory for Pelosi.

Trump has made the very shrewd calculation that Pelosi inviting him during the shutdown and then uninviting him during the shutdown reflects very badly on her and shows it as a political move/stunt with something that is not supposed to be partisan.

A pyrrhic victory indeed.

tRump is the loser.

No "ifs" about it.

Let's add ignoramus and weakling to that description.

HAHAHAHA

Trump loves a good strong dictator -- mwahahahaha.

Why didn't Trump talk to the Democrats for the two years they didn't have control?

LOL. A "shrewd calculation" after Pelosi told him firmly that no, he was not going to be allowed to give the speech while the government was shut down, even when he tried to insist he would.

Yeah, that's shrewd all right, backing down because you have absolutely no other recourse. That's not a calculation, that's an admission of defeat.

And referring to the part of your post I placed in bold, you are absolutely right. Trump cannot make her invite him to speak in the house. However, building on that, Mrs. Pelosi also cannot stop the president from delivering his address if he desires to do so. He could have simply chosen another venue from which to deliver his address. He did not do this because of Pelosi. He did this because he wants to deliver his address when the government is up and running again. Your spin is just that, spin. Rooted in nothing more than your personal disdain for the president.
What "clouding" of my judgement was that?
I simply stated FACTS.
Pelosi invited Trump to give the SOTU to Congress - FACT
Trump shut the government down - FACT
Pelosi declined to invite Trump to speak until after the government reopened - FACT
Trump tried to bully her by saying IN A JAN 23rd LETTER that he was planning on coming ANYWAY - FACT
Pelosi replied back once again that Trump would not be allowed to give his speech until the government reopened - FACT
TRUMP looked into other venues but eventually decided no - FACT
Trump agreed to postpone the SOTU - FACT

Trump bowed to Pelosi's wishes (as if he had a choice in the matter) - FACT
How is ANY of reflective of "clouded judgement". That's just the way things ARE.
Trump bowed.
The fact that you may not LIKE the fact that Trump bowed doesn't change that.
Trump tried to bully Pelosi and barge his way into a SOTU address in the House - and Pelosi stood her ground and said NO.
Trump bowed.

Ken
