His approval numbers are sinking and Republicans look like stooges.

Next up, Senate votes on House bills to reopen the government.

If they vote them down, the campaign ads practically write themselves.

If they vote approval and Trump vetoes, poll numbers continue to fall.

If they vote approval and Trump signs, the government reopens and Democrats come out the good guys here.

So regardless of which way this goes for the country, it's a win for Democrats.

Yes but now if Republicans want to save their own skin they need to turn on the president , admit there is a problem.

Yep. Republicans are between a rock and a hard place.

If they turn on Trump, they lose their base and become a part of that ol' deep state conspiracy.

If they continue to support him, the next two years of investigations and hearings will paint them as co-conspirators stooges.

Since when did the DEMS start worrying about wasting money? What a laugh! Tax and spend has been their mantra for decades. That is one of the main reasons I would never vote DEM. Its like if the GOP voted against something because it was too Christian. Both parties could never get my vote.

This is about not letting Trump have his way nothing else. Just like Trump is not backing down because he does not want the DEMS to win on this.

Default In delaying his State of the Union address, the President has admitted defeat to an experienced rival

#Winning.... For the Democrats.

In delaying his State of the Union address, the President has admitted defeat to an experienced rival

In his latest skirmish with Pelosi, Trump effectively admitted defeat late Wednesday and conceded that he would not be able to give his State of the Union address until after the shutdown ends. Earlier in the day, he had publicly thrown down a gauntlet and tried to force the speaker to back down over her refusal to let next Tuesday's showpiece speech take place in the House chamber.

Pelosi's victory came ahead of a pair of Senate votes due to take place on Thursday on dueling Republican and Democratic plans designed to end the shutdown. Neither is likely to break the deadlock, and may simply underline that Trump's hopes of a win remain slim.
