If you recall, the Obama shutdown was the Republicans refusing to lift the debt limit. Their tune sure changed when they had the chance to line their own pockets, didn't they?

Did you know that if it weren't for Bush and Trump, the federal government would be running a substantial surplus instead of a trillion dollar deficit?

I didn't know that no one has missed a paycheck yet since the first one during the shutdown isn't until Friday. Silly media hysteria.

Let's see if Trump breaks Bill Clinton's record for the longest shutdown. I think he will declare the military are building the barrier this week as he speaks and will declare the shutdown over.

It does. You not understanding it doesn't mean it wasn't addressed. Roll those eyes a little harder.

The 42% of recipients are children. Do you think their parents are going to sit idly by and say nothing? They are going to be pi$$ed, and they will get vocal.

If someone is dumb enough to think that's not a problem, well...hope they don't meet that mob.

I was commenting on somebody else, or quoted his statement. That person claimed he didn't care about anybody except the once I quoted...from his post. lol

I believe most people vent about EBT, which focuses on the fraud of EBT. Of course many need EBT, but how much of this is wasted? There are so many resources in America that I truly believe no one would go without. Perhaps visit a food pantry, a church, a neighbor, etc...

Of course when I see 4 women/men as fat as a house piling their carts on the first of the month, and actually throwing out on the floor items that either put them over the limit, or cannot purchase, I begin to wonder? I hate to judge, but really...

Yep, I read the link. It doesn’t address your broken window fallacy position.

Charity cannot take care of everyone. How much do you give to your local food bank? While UE is low, there are some still who cannot find work; there are some who can't earn enough to feed a family. Federal minimum wage is $7.25/hr. That's about $15,000/year at full time.
Why is it anyone else’s responsibility to bail someone out when they have made the horrible decision to have a family that they can’t afford to feed?

Just to make sure I understand, is it in fact your position that we have to give free stuff to poor people so that they won’t get angry and revolt?

Ah, Darth Sidious, your campaign to stamp out the Republic will never succeed, no matter how many you kill.
