Must have figured he bail before Mueller announced that he spend tens of millions of taxpayer dollars and found no evidence of "collusion".

The fact that seems to be mostly missed is that once a new Attorney General is appointed Rosenstein would no longer be in charge of supervising Muller anyway.

The only reason Rosenstein has been overseeing the probe to begin with is because Jeff Sessions recused himself. The new Attorney General would have no reason to recuse himself so oversight of the probe would immediately fall to him after confirmation.

In the last 24 hours:

- Natalia Whateverhernameis was indicted by federal prosecutors
- Paul Manafort shared presidential polling information with a Russian Intelligence officer
- SCOTUS denied to intervene in Mueller's mystery grand jury fight against a foreign-owned company

Trump and his supporters were constantly whining about how long this in depth investigation and dragnet was taking but now that it is winding down and Rosenstein's job is done, they will wish that it was not coming to a close as it heralds the giant ****- storm that is just around the bend.

Has anyone noticed how scarce the rest of the Trump crime family has been these days?

So, a Career DOJ guy, is resigning and quitting the DOJ, before he has put in his time to collect a pension.
What a dummy!
Put all that time and effort, to give up his retirement pension, just so Mueller can finish up.

The way you say it, Trump appointed Rod, to keep an eye on himself.

Rosenstein must feel safe that Mueller is about done so he can now leave as he doesn't have to protect Mueller anymore because he's wrapping things up.

It's hilarious to see some Trump supporters celebrate Rosenstein leaving as if its some sort of victory. No, it means that Mueller is wrapping things up and the American people will soon see the report.

Go Bob Mueller!

I agree. Mueller must be wrapping up.

Should make all Trump supporters happy. Can't wait to see the report

Same here. Looks like it's embarrassing enough to the DOJ that even Rosenstein is bailing before it's released (and sacrificing a pension). Wonder what other rats will jump ship.
