A generally decent Huffpo recap even with the built in redactions of events like not mentioning the USSR but blaming US "Cold war policies" and of course the political whitewashing with the exception of a jab thrown at Biden (but we know why he's targeted by huffpo too.)

The United States did all it could to rob those countries of any impending moves towards democracy and equal justice for all citizens. We spent the entire Cold War propping up dictators and suppressing freedom.

Americans have a lot of nerve to whine about the conditions of those countries at present. Everything that’s happening in those countries was bound to happen anyway.

Often a country will provide 'aid' to other countries not as some generous act but for self serving reasons. It happens all the time.

The rebuilding of Afghanistan/Iran is not because the USA feels some moral obligation to those people - -it is because in order to try and avoid terrorist groups from taking control again, it is in the best interest to get these countries up and running and strong.

That's one example.

But it creates problems of meddling, and how much money should be spent overseas to protect the USA interests.

Voters don't see the direct impact or understand the impact of making sure that other countries provide their citizens with vaccines, or economic stability.

Sh!thole countries are no different than ghettos. They weren't designed that way...they become that way because that's how the people there have chosen to live/act. Putting those people somewhere else only destroys the place you put them. Those people will continue to live like they have always lived no matter what. It just takes a little timto see the result.

Too bad you weren't around to witness early America....hint...…..it was a chit hole with people not having any other choice but to live that way. It took good old European know-how to drag it out of the sewer.
