This is huge overreach of presidential power. Trump is trying to seize control of a duly elected house of Congress and force them to do what he says...or else. No government for the people until you comply.
We have separation of powers in this country exactly so this can't happen. Each branch is equal, and each branch has certain powers granted to them by the Constitution. The House has the power of the purse strings. Not the president. Period. That's not up for debate unless you intend to nullify the Constitution.
What Trump is attempting to do is to use the power of the executive branch to take over another branch of government. (And the GOP is aiding and abetting him.) What does that sound like?
what did you think of executive order for DACA? the former president unilaterally changed immigration laws and bypassed congress by executive order.
in 2012, he put DACA in place to provide pseudo-legal status to illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as minors, including as teenagers. He promised them that they wouldn't be deported and provided them with work authorizations and access to Social Security and other government benefits.
And he did this despite the fact that the immigration laws passed by Congress do not give the president the ability to do this. Indeed, Congress specifically rejected bills to provide such benefits.

That is certainly Nancy & Chuck’s Talking Point.
Question is ... when are they going to call for tearing down the Immoral Walls in California, Tucson & El Paso Sectors that they voted to build?

Did Pelosi? Do you know or are you just repeating what you heard? I do not care much for Pelosi but I also do not think making things up is a valid argument. The wall (or fence, which is a useless argument) that Obama and Hillary voted for, Pelosi voted no.
Now, I certainly think that President Trump would be exceeding his powers by declaring a national emergency. Indeed, if he did so, I can imagine the next Democratic president declaring a 'national emergency' over global warming. Why not? The precedent has been set.
Here is what may happen: Mr. Trump declares a national emergency over the crises on the southern border. He declares it a victory, and informs his base that the military is now building a wall or fence or whatever.
The Courts then strike the emergency declaration down. Nothing is done by the military (since I have no doubt a district court will immediately issue an injunction against carrying out the order).
Nevertheless, in the World of Trump, he has 'saved face', and he can tell his base that he has accomplished what he set out to do (the base of Trump tend to be gullible).
I support building the wall and very strong border security. but, I don't support governance of any president by decree/ executive orders so voted no in this poll. writing laws and proposing government funding bills are (supposedly) the jobs of congress.
I'm very disappointed elected leaders in congress refuse to negotiate with the president. that is their job. they aren't doing their job.
I endorse this post.
