Trump and McConnell are both playing by the rules of the process. The constitution gives Trump veto power and there is no use for McConnell to bring legislation to the Senate floor that will just be vetoed by Trump. It needs more bipartisan support at least, which the House bill did not try to get. It was just a lame half-hearted gesture trying to claim they're doing something when in reality they're not.

“Fencing” and technology.
And the “fencing” part was amended in 2007.
So, let the Supreme Court also rule on whether appropriations for fencing can be used for the steel slats.

That seems to be the bottom line and what this deadlock is over.

Send it to the Supreme Court so they can shoot it down, that’s fine. No president has the power to do what you think he should. It’s not about the border wall, it’s about constraints on power. The whole reason we have separate branches.
I agree with you that I think it is illegal to do as an executive order. Also, not all Republicans are on board with it, but you are ignoring that they had to get over the 60 vote threshold...if they didn't it would have likely passed.

The only way to break this deadlock as far as I can see is for President Trump to declare a national emergency to fund the Wall. The Democrats will naturally fight the President on this move.

So, should the U.S. Supreme Court be the final arbiter on whether or not the Wall is built? Their decision will set a precedent for all future Presidents to do what they need to do on our National Border to ensure the security of our Country.
I'm not sure, but shutting down the government for this isn't bright either. But, the democrats are not off the hook either, because I don't see anyone on that side crying about fixing the Flint, Michigan water crisis, or suggesting a stronger law to stop companies from hiring illegals in the first place. Make it a first degree felony with serious prison time and fines in the millions. Make them pay for the processing and administration of these illegals since they are largely responsible for this problem to begin with because they want to try and cheat. Do democrats not realize that everytime a company hires an illegal, they are not paying into social security, federal employee taxes, medicaid, medicare and other stuff that legal workers are subject to?

I also agree that if Trump had the support from the GOP, it would have been done when they were in full control of Congress.
And I'm surprised political pundits aren't addressing this more.

Brother is that comment a stretch. I have a fence on three sides of my property and I am sure it walls out intruders. Just like the American elite who live in walled in enclosures

A fence is not the same thing as a wall, and no amount of ridiculous blather on your part will make it so.

Simple question....Why isn't a fence the same as a wall? Your problem is your hatred of Trump and no matter what the barrier is called you would oppose it on political grounds.

One comment...every time a company hires an illegal alien means on less job for an American citizen. Usually a minority...

Both the Dems and the Reps agreed upon a bill before the shutdown. So yes, there was an agreement. Trump walked away. It's on him.
