My community is collecting food for the Coast Guard families at the near-by base. I have no problem at all with supporting them when they need it, but really, I resent the heck out of the government closure that forces people into this situation.

I saw on TV last night that some company is collecting food to take to the Coast Guard station. I plan on going to the grocery store today and getting some food to donate. These poor public servants are not rich, and for Trump to treat them as pawns is outrageous.

That's very generous of you. Is your community also supporting the other non-glamorous federal employees forced to work w/o pay? I'm sure your community has at least a few.
