Dreams die hard. Shouldn't you be out with the other pussyhats in the Women's March today? Is Linda Sarsour banned or has she just been disowned by feminists in DC (finally)?

Without mandatory e-verify that never happens.

Just announced speech will begin an hour later.

No national emergency, just an announcement that the Army Corps of Engineers had the money in their budget or he found millions in various other agencies and cobbled enough together so the Corps can build it.

Word on the street is that this stalling was to get us over the thirty day mark so obstructionist Fed workers, especially SES (Senior Exec Service) can legally be permanently laid off. Streamlining the govt to make it cheaper and more efficient. You know, like they do in business. Fingers crossed!

As soon as the 'emergency' is over, the work would stop without an appropriation.

Trump can not declare an emergency which would last the remainder of his term, it would not stand.

After the Senate amends it, it still goes back to the house for final approval. It's dead in the water.

Well, 1/2 right.

Only one "party" of the three branches involved made a particular promise 1,000 times - the other two "parties", which consist of 538 folks in Congress are always willing to talk about border and other security...and invest in it.

One person - representing one branch - agreed to OWN the shutdown and, in fact, is individually and solely responsible for it.

I fully expect the shutdown to continue as long as Dems are unwilling to compromise, and I fully support continuing it for as long as it takes.

Conservatives should happily accept credit for maintaining their position.

We're all alive and well, demonstrating how much of govt, shut now, is truly NEVER needed.

Government which governs least governs best.

That would be wonderful.

MAGA-nificient describes it best.

Hope they are correct!

Ah, so Trump borrowing TRILLIONS more, projecting record deficits and debt for many years to come...will somehow SAVE us all money in the end.

If "as they do in business" is as Trump did in his business career, it's time to expect a very poor productivity and ROI. That's his record....any way you look at it (he'd have 15+ billion if he invested in the S&P, instead be went to zero and maybe now has 2.5 after Russian borrowing and manipulation).

That's not the kind of "business" that most Americans would want.

Pelosi did not initiate the shut down and advised against it in front of Trump and all of us. The House did their job and passed a spending bill.

If you are looking for someone other than Trump to blame for this mess, look to the leader of the Senate.
