Why would anyone cheer gang violence? I thought we all desired less of that? Oh, well, I guess things differ in Texas, where the armed society is a politer place.....
That looks like a bad area....we're not talking a "normal home invasion" IMHO...probably drugs involved. I mean.....this place is next door: Sherman & New Orleans - Bayou City Rooms
And it's two blocks from the bus station.
Not exactly the "Surburban old man protests his family".
So, please, what is political about celebration of gang violence and over-arming of the population?
What part of it sounds shady on both sides? I didn't get that from the article or the video, but I do agree that it's not unheard of for these so-called home invasions to actually be dopers trying to rip off a dealer's house.
All I can say for sure at this point is that the assault team sure couldn't shoot worth a damn. 90 or more shell casings in the front yard (presumably all theirs), and only one broken window in the whole damned house! Meanwhile, Homeowner Guy scored an all 5 of them while under heavy fire, and 3 of those 5 were fatal hits. Who the hell was this dude?!?
The area. Dig around it on google maps.
Obviously an assumption, but "home invaders" looking for regular "stuff" don't carry long guns and drive SUVs right up to the place.

Win-win either way, rather they were random burglars doing a home invasion or gang members on a "hit". Several violent thugs assuming ambient temperature. I do love a story with a happy ending.
Texas certainly leads the Nation is total gun ownership - I suspect that 44% is low.
I don’t think I’ve ever known a Texas Family that didn’t owns guns, and I mean several. A dozen isn’t unusual for many people. We have inherited firearms + the firearms that we bought ourselves. All long guns in my household, but son owns 3-4 handguns + shotgun. He will eventually inherit all our long guns.
That’s common in Texas families.
Actually Alaska leads the nation in percentage of gun ownership at 61.7%.
You can buy civilian versions which look like AKs. The "AK" refers to "Avtomát Kaláshnikova" = Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle.
Dude, don't dig yourself any deeper!
