Would be a far wiser investment for the nation than a silly wall that will do little but appease the xenophobes.
Did you look at the pictures in my first post in this thread? Please explain how those walls are not effective and how "technology" (drones and sensors, etc) would have been more effective?

Here's a better plan. Let's figure out how to rid the United States of 22 MILLION illegal aliens, let Americans have those jobs, let wages rise to the level they should be at, except for the depressive effect of illegal labor, use the funds saved from treating illegals in our hospitals, funds saved from having to educate illegals, funds saved from illegals in our prisons and legal system and use THAT money for a wall and other infrastructure projects.

That is a lie that is being repeated and repeated and never challenged. Here is the challenge. MOST of the people who overstay do leave. MOST of the people who cross the southern border illegally do not. Of the 22 million illegals in the country, 55 percent come from Mexico, 70% come from south of the American border including Mexico and Central America.
The "overstay vs southern border" lie comes from the fact that we know how many people enter the U.S. and exit the U.S. on visas and how many people we CAPTURE at the southern border. We have NO IDEA how many we DO NOT capture at the southern border. How can you know what you don't know?

Can I guess you DON'T live in California? The southern border has been in crisis for 40+ years, maybe 50+ since the end of the Bracero Program.
The wall is not a vague idea. The wall exists already and every Border Patrol agent I talk to in Coronado (just 13 miles north of the Mexican border) believes the walls work and wants more.

A bunch of money was invested into infastructure when they signed that bailout (if I remember correctly). Also if it's about infastructure, then why do different states make their roads differently?
Honest question.
Bush and Obama both put parts of a wall up...which congress supported. Why is it now not OK for Trump to do it?
So most people in favor of spending billions of dollars on a wall have no concern about the fact that we have been given a grade of D+ for the state of our dams, bridges, roads, airports, grid, waterways, etc.?
Dont we already have like an additional 200 billion in the budget for infrastructure?
More likely to insist the Government repaint the kitchen ...... after all, they don't even know what a Water Main is or what possible relationship it could have to a broken pipe.
This is our Reality today - the Federal Employees need to accept the Reality of their Leadership that use those same Employees and DACA "dreamers" as Cannon Fodder in the 2020 War against Trump.
Build the wall first. It minimizes the number of people needing/putting strain on whatever infrastructure there is.
Then use the savings from no longer being a host to illegals to put unskilled Americans to honest work building all the things you mentioned.
Why waste billions of dollars and years building it when you can simply institute tough laws based on e-verify today at a fraction of the cost?
It boggles the mind.
