Definitely serves them right.

I'm sure they will settle, but will likely have to write a $50 million dollar + check.

i don't see how anyone could deny that the latter statement is far more accurate than the former. especially considering this:

of course they didn't. he was just some nameless kid wearing a MAGA hat.

That's pretty goofy, saying that the case will depend on if Sandman was a public figure. How much less of a public figure could a 16 year old unknown high school kid from Kentucky be? The whole point of the lawsuit is that Sandman USE TO BE unknown and was at the time of the incident, BUT BECAME the target of death threats due to the fake news stories and is now a public figure and reputation has been destroyed. Although many people would support him, its a polarizing political topic and he will face consequences for years to come. The News media is the main reason for this. Sandman has an excellent case.

He should take it all the way. He will win. But on top of it, he restores his reputation and becomes a hero for those slandered by the media. If he settles, he is admitting some level of fault.

Yeah, he will win. The reporting was so terrible and one-sided, and clearly determined to destroy this kid's reputation, just because he was wearing a "MAGA hat."

You have a point though about settling. Will be fascinating to watch these huge media corporations squirm in court. LOL

CNN, was probably the worse of the cable "news" media vilifying Sandman and what they did wasn't reporting news. it was malicious and intentional slander because of their anti Trump agenda, even after the long length full video came out. There is no way they aren't going to lose this. Sandman's attorney has no intentions of settling this out of court.

He would not be admitting any fault if he “accepts” the settlement. He wouldn’t be settling. The Washington Post (or whatever media) is the one “settling” (and admitting fault). He would be the one “accepting” the settlement. Although I agree he shouldn’t because he’d be letting them off the hook.
