It would be a disservice to the people for them not to hear the SOTU directly from the president as has been the long standing custom. We can't let the democrat party of hate win.
If its done in the House the democrats will do everything they can to disgrace themselves and America as has been their MO.

Where it should take place is a good question.
The answer should be in the best interest of the country too and may be the Senate. Their claim to fame has been to be the more statesman like body of congress. Maybe the democrats in the Senate can prove that to be the case.

In all seriousness I cannot believe he hasn't done this, the Super Bowl of politics. I think liberals would tune in to see that show, minus the whole raining sauce on people part.
Daryl, I laughed so hard! I assure you, I’d turn in for that. (I am not super fond of BBQ sauce, though—if McRib sauce qualifies.)

I'm sure there's some small town high school auditorium in Montana where he might perform his speech. Montana Agricultural & Gun Academy (MAGA)!

Doesn't really matter where it is. How long does it take to stand up and say "the state of the union is shutdown"?

The idea that he is going to try to talk himself and his administration up while also keeping part of the government shut down is asinine.

An apt descriptor of his entire presidency.

Pelosi did Individual 1 a huge solid by postponing the SOTU. Individual 1 is too pig headed to see it. He is going to look like a fool, moreso than usual.

If Pelosi does deny the president's sotu speech because of political disagreements, it would be a bad precedent to set for the future presidents. don't you think? it is possible there would no longer be any sotu speeches unless the president's party holds a majority in both houses.
No, it would be a precedent that if the government is shutdown, the SOTU is delayed. Which makes total sense to normal, intelligent Americans who are suffering because of an egomaniac's temper tantrum.

It's an opportunity for him to whine and who knew that wannabe dictators were such whiny babies.

Looking like a fool is Trump's modus operandi! Little hands, flailing in the air describing his big, beautiful non-existent wall! Individual 1 is a big,fat 0!

All Trump does is open his mouth and deliver nothing. That is just what he did in his last two speeches to the American public when he spoke about the Trump government shutdown. He merely just regurgitated old and tired campaign slogans. Most Americans have had enough of him and his hollow words and inaction. There is no need for a SOTU address. Congressional leaders met him on his own turf in the WH a few weeks ago. He walked out on them when they would not agree to give him everything he wanted. He showed them little respect and should not expect an invitation to insult them again.
