Those oppressed people in third world countries are forced to get abortions and here when we have all the things we need to live a good life kill our children.

How can you call yourself pro-life if you don't care about the life of the mother?
Guess you did not read the law----it says FOR ANY REASON UP TO BIRTH. Even healthy babies.

Instead of getting all upset about what state is allowing this, and what government isn't, it might be a very good idea if officials started a campaign to educate the public about birth control, on a nation wide scale.
Let people (especially the poor), know the consequences of having babies they can't support.
There is no incentive to ward of unwanted pregnancies, none at all.

People are always going to pro create, and instead of states making laws to make, abortions legal, or illegal, education , and birth control products should be made available to those who can not afford them.

As with any issue, there are two sides to the argument, for and against, and the proponents on either side are not willing to budge an inch on their thinking.
It is past high time someone stepped up to the plate and addressed the unwanted pregnancy issue head on.
Planned parenthood, in my estimation, is nothing more than an abortion clinic, hiding under the guise of educating women about birth control.
They don't make money educating women, they make it with each and every abortion they perform.
I have never understood why the federal government funds that bogus organization under the guise they are educating women.
If all they did was educate women about birth control methods, they would be out of business.

What is needed is a strong government policy concerning the education, and practice of birth control methods..
When we have had a health crisis in the past, the government has stepped in to not only warn the public, but educate them to the ramifications of serious health issues.
The aids epidemic was one such health crisis, and anyone who doesn't think the alarming amount of unwanted pregnancies , and subsequent abortions, is not a health crisis, needs to take the blinders off.

What just happened in New York looks like a back door approach to me.
Instead of voting on either side of the issue, they should have been involved in ways to educate women about birth control.
At the rate this abortion issue is going, one day we may well be like china, and allow only one child per woman, with stiff penalties for having more than one.
That may be something to think about.

Bob.

This might not be entirely bad. Odds are fairly high it will result in far less liberals being alive to vote in the future.

Because anti-choicers are FOS. If they were not, they would be whining about fertility clinics and policies that are detrimental to kids in general...SAVE THE FETUS/SCREW THE CHILD is alive and well.

For the record, The Reproductive Health Act does three things:
  1. First, it strips abortion from the state's criminal code and places it entirely within the realm of public health law.
  2. Second, it expands who can perform the procedure from beyond just physicians to any licensed, certified or authorized health care practitioner for whom abortion is within their scope of practice.
  3. Finally, it legalizes abortion after 24 weeks in cases where it would protect a woman's health or where a fetus is not viable. State law previously only allowed abortions after 24 weeks if the woman's life was in jeopardy.

Even China is letting up in their restriction of one child per couple. They see only boys are being born and they will die out with no girls. Duh. They are also having low birth now.

This is the legacy of Roe v. Wade. It's time to end this barbarism."

Is it any wonder why our country is so messed up?

That's pretty messed up.

Kill American babies, protect illegal immigrants.

Honestly, our society is crumbling just the same as the greatest civilizations of the past.

Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, all failed under the weight of their own success. The Greeks killed their babies for any abnormality, Rome fell under the burden of debt, foreign conscripts, and high taxation. We are Rome 2.0.
