Sorry, but alot of the stuff that I see some folks write, I'm at a loss for words as to how some can think what they do. A good example is the ban of the transgenders in the military the right see this as a victory, but I see this as something that will turn many many young people away from the right. LGBTQ individuals to us is something we don't think about we're past the point of not understanding different people, and looking at them differently.
I agree, and that's one of the things I love about your generation. My son is bisexual and my daughter is asexual, and neither of them judge anyone else's sexuality, and expect the same respect in return. We've waited a long time for a generation to come along that is truly progressive, and I think you guys are it. I am eager for the Millennials to start taking over. It's long past time for the old grey headed, knuckle-dragging conservatives to exit the stage and allow us to move into the 21st century.
What smoking weed and listening to Black Sabbath was to kids in the 70's, ****posting and wearing a MAGA hat are now. The media as it existed back then tried to tell kids to "Stop smoking the Devil's weed and turn off that Satan worshipper music."
Oh I'm sure that we'll continue to see the overwhelmingly Left-biased media try to right the ship. It won't work. GenZ is going to push back and rebel. Somewhere a very strange thing happened. The Democrats and Leftists turned into the moral busy-bodies telling everyone how to speak, think, talk and act. It was the Left that took the swimsuit contest out of the Miss America pageant. It was the Left that keeps shutting down any career opportunities for attractive women who want to use their looks to make money. It is the Left that is actively policing what people say and getting them kicked off of Twitter and Facebook for wrong-think. It was the Left that pushed for and got a complete ban of pornography on Tumblr. It's the Left that's just dying to destroy your life for "sinful behavior." Progressivism has unwittingly turned into a religion and that religion loves them some Inquisitioning. It leaves a lot of traditional Liberals with nobody to vote for. And it is the Left that becomes the stuffy old parental figure that young people desperately want to rebel against.
Evangelical Christian's now represent the left? What states have legalized marijuana? It's the religion of acceptance yes.
As anyone with a beloved but gullible elderly relative who loves to spread fake news/chain letters that they saw on some tabloid website around knows, it is so far from the truth to say the younger generation are alone in this problem. With the exception of this being something that they've done all of their lives.
Obviously this pattern isn't exclusive to them, but I think technology has made it more pronounced in younger people.

That is the Republican party. They are truly regressive. They long for the 1950s, when women and gays and minorities knew their place and didn't try to venture out of it. That's what the GOP considers "the good old days."

The world changed. Things flipped and everything is backwards now. You have Leftists running around in black clothes and black masks attacking people for saying, doing or thinking the wrong things. The Left is quite enthusiastically stomping on freedom of speech. How weird is it to see people calling Free Speech protests and rallies Nazis? The Left is erasing the very existence of anyone they consider "sinful." Their overzealousness to purge and attack and silence has created giant swaths of victims. We live in a world where the Left constantly pats themselves on the back for being so righteous, noble and accepting while they run around acting exactly like actual Fascists and Nazis. Then the truly ironic part: They're running around calling all the "wicked heathen" members of the wrong race/gender/demographic Fascists and Nazis. The Left stands for a whole lot of things that I never in a million years would have dreamed they would ever stand for.

Oh trust me we do. The 1950s is not happening again. Only 2/3s of Gen Z even identify as strictly heterosexual now. The country is getting gayer, and browner by the day, and they know it!! Lol
I'm an early Boomer or maybe a Silent -- don't judge us as backwards thinking Conservatives. We were the people who demonstrated against our guys getting killed in Viet Nam. We took to the streets. We demonstrated for womens rights. We started the organic foods movement and the environmental movement.
Seems like it skipped a generation--a lot of those Boomers got rich and conservative and complacent.
But the younger people are the way we were, wanting to make things better, not happy with the status quo. PLUS they see TRUMP and that would turn anyone away from being conservative!

I think kids in the '70s were rebelling against the immediate authority figures in their lives - parents, school, church - rather than against media. Some kids today may be rebelling against media but they're a small minority.

Seems like we ought to be seeing that. It would be nice if the kids rebelled to the right, but evidence for that trend is thin. More of them are rebelling by going even farther left than their older sisters, taking PC demands to ever more ridiculous extremes.
