Seems like it skipped a generation--a lot of those Boomers got rich and conservative and complacent.

But the younger people are the way we were, wanting to make things better, not happy with the status quo. PLUS they see TRUMP and that would turn anyone away from being conservative!
You are quite right. You guys led the way. My 33-year-old daughter is bemused by idea that she would ever be limited because of her gender, something that was not true when I was that age. We all stand on the shoulders of the generation that came before us. I'm sorry to have suggested otherwise.

And this generation will finish it. With Trump acting as the catalyst.

Like every generation before them, the Millennial Generation has increased its % of Conservatism over time.

Effectively, GenZ is starting out dead-even with their parents. They're going to move Right. Everyone just inherently knows this. You're filled with wide eyed optimism and idealism as you graduate High School and College -- then reality smacks you squarely in the face. You quickly realize that life is a lot harder than you imagined it would be. Your worldview tends to move Right from that point on. The fact that GenZ is starting out more Conservative is actually quite significant because they're starting out more Conservative than any generation in a very long time. They're the first generation since WW2 generation to break the trend of gradually moving to the Left with each new generation.
Not true at all. While individuals may change their political identity as they age, the politics of generations as a whole are influenced by the politics of the time when they reach voting age. By their late 20’s the politics of the majority of people are formed for life.

”On an individual level, of course, many people’s political views evolve over the course of their lives. But academic research indicates not only that generations have distinct political identities, but that most people’s basic outlooks and orientations are set fairly early on in life. As one famous longitudinal study of Bennington College women put it, “through late childhood and early adolescence, attitudes are relatively malleable…with the potential for dramatic change possible in late adolescence or early adulthood. [b]ut greater stability sets in at some early point, and attitudes tend to be increasingly persistent as people age.”

Also, there’s little evidence of any significant rightward turn in the voting patterns of Gen-X or Millennials.

Those were probably the ones who leaned pro-Trump. Lots of little anti-soy edgelords out there posting memes of Pepe the frog and praising his "alpha" persona.

Most of the gen x cohorts I know that were once moderate conservatives (such as myself) have totally gone independent and are not a fan of the current GOP politics.

A few have gone far, far right but most are in the middle.

None of my friends have gone full bore liberal.

We’re an odd lot, lol.

I have a teenage son who is hard right. He actually wants to believe his generation will turn out different from millennials and be a force for challenging the millennial political dogma. I told him not to count on this as much of his generation is embracing leftism especially on social issues. This research backs up what I told him. He will have to get used to living in a world dominated by socialism. He just does not want to accept that. I do not blame him as I don’t accept it either.

Soon democracy will dictate a hard left government will rule us. The only way to escape this fate is for the right to rebel against the democratically elected socialist government. We conservatives either must ditch democracy and choose rebellion or accept living under the socialist boot. I for one would choose rebellion. In my opinion it would be better to watch America burn than to see these socialist impose their evil agenda upon us. Nothing would be worse that that.

Remember when you all said circa 2012-2016 a Republican would never be elected President against because of millennials? How did that work out? I honestly don't know any white male millennial who is a liberal- unless they are beta males.

Source? That's a ridiculous claim.

There's an all out assault on young people especially by conservatives in this country, and trust me all it does and take us more and more to the left.
These don't look like liberals here.

The Democrats who play victim are the ones who are turning off teenagers and twenty somethings.
