He really doesn't seem able to negotiate in any meaningful way, the way normal people negotiate, as a give-and-take. No wonder he had all those bankruptcies. He builds ill-will, not walls.

Trump Upends Washington’s Usual Bargaining
By Michael D. Shear

Washington used to know how to have a serious debate about border security... But President Trump has demolished the decades-old, bipartisan understanding about how to bargain over the border. In Mr. Trump’s world, there are no alternatives that can form the basis of a legislative give-and-take...

To shut down the government and make America increasingly unsafe?

Individual 1 fans have weird goals.

Inability to negotiate.... LOL.

Not surprised that you don't see this for what it is. Most can't, and the talking heads wouldn't explain it to you even if they understood it themselves.

This is the first time the Democrats and Trump have faced off. This is a staring contest. Whoever blinks first stands to lose most legislative battles for at least the next two years. In Trump's eyes, if he appears to be the loser when this is done, it's effectively the end of his presidency as he'll have no negotiating power. He's not wrong.

If you think this is about a wall, or about a measly few billion, you're just caught up in the narrative.

I don't know what bizzaro universe the OP comes from, but Trump is the one that spent the holidays in Washington trying to get a deal done while Pelosi was in Hawaii tanning her shriveled old botoxed body. Then the fatcat Dems ran off to Puerto Rico to hobnob with their donors, all while Trump all but begged them to negotiate. Had they gotten their way they'd still be off globetrotting on the taxpayer's dime.

Trump has given the Dems almost everything they wanted, but they have no interest in the welfare of the government workers. To the Dems they're only pawns in their political game.

Maybe the OP believes their own BS and that of the leftist media, but no one else with half a brain would believe one word out of them.

She feeds on a diet of at least 100 hate filled stories a day (per her admission). After a while, it takes a toll.

Why do you completely ignore the responsibility of the left? Our Fed has been dysfunctional for at least 12 years. You seem to forget the Obama method of negotiating was the my way or the highway approach. Pelosi and company are the reason I am an Independent. The old school method of negotiating was you vote for my pork and Ill vote for yours.

Libs bash Trump when he isn't able to keep a promise. Then they bash him when he works hard to fulfill a promise. We get it. You hate Trump, regardless of what he does.
