Making false statements? When will they arrest members of congress for making false statements to we the people?
Every politician alive would be arrested. Why is it illegal to lie to congress but not for them to lie to us?
I am assuming that the obstruction is related to the alleged lying? I believe he lied.
Witness tampering? Well I can believe that as well.
The only bone I have is the charge of making false statements. Members of congress, the senate and every President in memory have done that to the people.
Feed Stone to the sharks if found guilty, but the false statement charges should be dropped.
Alas, lying to the public isn't illegal. If it was, the entire ad industry would become a mere shadow of its current self.
Lying to an investigator under oath is always a crime.
I believe they had access to his house, and also a warrant to search his offices elsewhere.
Mueller doesn't fool around. He dots all of his "i's" and does things by the book.
The Dotard has had his people out there weakening the situation at every turn. Rudy has been everywhere from "there was NO Meeting" to there was a meeting, but the pres didn't know about it, to he did know, but it didn't involve anything....and on and on...to "there was collusion but the pres didn't engage in it".
This was a VERY serious attempt by a known enemy (Russia) and an agent (wittingly or not, Trump) to infiltrate our government at the highest level. It was very effective, and has left our Nation severely compromised.
People don't seem to realize how much of a situation America is in as a result of this activity. We have a Russian Agent in the Presidency. If it happened when you woke up tomorrow morning, you would go batship crazy. Because it was softened by the agent over time, it seems innocuous.
It is not. It is VERY serious. And the people who intercepted one of the perpetrators this morning handled it as such. Good for them. Prayers that they all came out alive and safe.
Yawn.....
"Though it was salacious and largely unverified, the dossier eventually made its way to the FBI, and Republicans have alleged that information was misused to open the federal government’s Russia investigation. Simpson has also come under fire for his relationship with Bruce Ohr, a Justice Department lawyer. He had an usually close relationship with Ohr, who brought some of the dossier information to the Justice Department and FBI. Ohr’s wife, Nellie Ohr, was contracted by Fusion GPS."
"Just last week, Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson refused to answer any additional questions by invoking his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. Now, former Fusion employee Nellie Ohr, the wife of Justice Department official Bruce Ohr, has invoked spousal privilege to refuse to answer questions from the committee."
I find it stunning that Manafort just does not seem to learn from his mistakes. Over and over again.
The mold has been set for decades. Stone, Manafort and Black used to partners in a lobbying firm that represented Dictators (like Idi Amin) interests in the US - that was in the 80s. Going for the low hanging money without regard to principle since the 1980s...
Visualize a gang. Maybe the Crypts or Bloods. You have evidence the gang is up to no good. In fact, you have evidence on every member of the gang that leads to indictments, arrests and convictions. All except one, the president or leader of the gang. Would you then say it was all staged? It was all a set up? There is no way the leader of the gang could be involved? Its all a misunderstanding or plot and the media is the real criminal!
Well, I guess if you were a satellite member of the gang you would. Fortunately the justice system does not work that way.

It must be such a relief for Stone to finally know he is going to jail. Well after a trial of course. He has been waiting all these months wondering if the shoe would ever drop on him. He knew he lied big time and wasn't even afraid to publicly say he was expecting to be indicted.
