The polling data being discussed is internal campaign generated data. It is data that is costly to obtain and valuable to anyone who is trying to help or hurt a candidates election prospects.
Now think. What is the reason polling data was shared with the Russians. Was it because Russians love looking at polling data for an American campaign? Of course not.
Polling data was shared because Russia was coordinating support according to where data showed they will get the best return on their investment.
That's exactly why internal polling data was shared.
Public polling data is easily obtained by anyone with an internet access.

At the very least destruction of offending property, physical attacks such as drink thrown in face, confiscation of your food if you are sitting in a restaurant (and that's for even supporting Trump without wearing the hat).

If polling data was public then why did Manafort need to lie about sharing the data, and why did he need to meet with the former Russian GRU intelligence officer Kilimnick and then lie about it. He even lied about his meeting with him in 2017 after the election. Its foolish to believe this indictment is regarding the sharing of polling data.
