Why Can't Conservatives Admit that the Trump is a Corrupt Con Man?
To do so would imply that they themselves have been conned. Pride will not allow it, so they must construct an alternate reality with alternative facts that hold their sense of self-worth and honor intact.
Classic cognitive dissonance.
Pride? In what? They are at the bottom of the heap. It's their lack of personal pride that people like Trump have exploited, to gain their mindless loyalty.
What a pathetic little person one must be to admire such an idiot. There is not even anything charismatic about him and in fact he is repulsive so it must be the birther's hate and fear mongering that gets their motors running.

A whole person can. But on the hand no person of integrity would admire such a clod. My late father used to quickly change the channel when he would see Trump on TV and while shaking his head laughing he would say "what a putz". I agree with you, Trump attracts creeps.
If you think about the days of old (and maybe not so old), when the jocks went to a frat party and perhaps did bad things to a woman who was "out of it", how many out of the team refused? Not many.....now, there would be no statistics on such a thing, but it also has been observed among Soldiers in various conflicts, etc.
People are sheeple ad they do as they are led to do. Appeal to their better angels and set an example and they may follow it. Appeal to the Devil on their Shoulder and they will listen to him.
I have to say that most rabid Trumpers I know are not nice people. There are exceptions, of course, to any generalization. But most people don't like guys who are unreliable and brag about grabbing genitals. They really don't....
But, as noted, enough do. I'd put the figure at 20% - that is, perhaps 1/2 of Trumps base.
The other 20% is split into various factions.....
1. I know he's a con man but I like some of the things he says. (of course...that is exactly what a con man does...says things you like!).
2. The other person is worse (hard to imagine with Trump).
3. Things are do bad that we need a dictator to make them right.
4. I somehow make economic gain off this
and so on.....
Heck, if Charles Manson ran for POTUS is there anyone here who thinks he wouldn't get 15% of the vote? He's a songwriter from WV, after all? If he ran against Hillary he'd probably get 30%.

Terrible. I know.....I wish! It's legal here fully now and I can't even partake...
But I do know that Trump is a con man. I lived 6 miles from Atlantic City while he turned it into a Ghost Town after taking the money from taxpayers, contractors, investors, bondholders and the like.
Atlantic City being a complete ****hole is what turned it into a ghost town, it was a ghost town and a **** hole long before Trump invested in a casino there.

When a large chunk of Trump's inner circle is in jail, served time or has been indicted, isn't that an obvious factual clue that the entire Trump White House is crooked, corrupt and criminal, including the president himself?
What's it going to take for conservatives to finally admit that Trump is a corrupt con man and Republicans should no longer support him?

Who gives a pile of dung about changing your mind or whatever it is rolling around in your skull that makes you admire a jerkwad who would rob you blind if given the opportunity and then laugh at you all the way to the bank. We have many descriptive words in NY for dupes like that but my favorite is "dishrag".

Reid used the protection of the senate floor to lie about a presidential candidate. Now why do senators need special protections like that?
Trump is a snake oil salesman that bought politicians like most of us buy potato chips. Many are still in office today. Yes he is a corrupt con man in a city filled with corrupt con artists. I mean it isn't even a poorly kept secret. Everyone knows how dishonest they are. No surprise given that most are bottom feeding former lawyers.
Change the laws so that they can be held accountable for when they lie.
