I can't say her decision is right as I'm in favor of term limits for Justices, they shouldn't be allowed to serve past 70.
Assuming that it was the Framers who put the "you are a SCOTUS judge until you retire, die, or removed from office"-type entry in the Constitution, that is definitely something they should have not added in.

I've questioned the wisdom of that before, myself, but if it applies to one, it applies to all.
As to the original question, I have no idea what she would have done - I've never had the opportunity to ask her. It may be she stays on the job because she loves it. It happens sometimes.
