GoFundMe is a cesspool for fraud, so I don't understand the difference between that and our government.

jesus christ dude. clearly the OP was referring to a gofundme-type of funding where you give money to specific 'pots' for specific programs. think

Could be, doesn't need to be, you could do it with a 256 ascii string and a 16 bits for bit flags for each record (Or 32 bits if you disseminate to more than 16 discrete provided services).

As a hypothetical at least, and for fast traversal and recall you don't want to traverse an entire Facebook user graph, but even with that, you'd just run a daily job to distil the necessary data, and use that as your search DB. I mean, using the entire user store would be a seriously IQ challenged idea.

It could have been a heart attack, stroke, chainsaw kickback to the face, whatever. The point being you would not get any services you did not elect to pay for.

It was also intended to point out the absurdity of the situation.

Its all hypothetical but at least try to stay on track.
Yeah, and your point?

If you don't have fire insurance and your house burns down, you can't claim either. Is that equally absurd? The person in that event chose not to take out fire insurance, a la carte services they would have chosen not to take out EMS coverage, so either they have an alternative, or they are dumb.

I heard of a theory of tax what you want. There are two ways it works, the idea Gungnir mentioned where a person opts out by not paying and the specified taxes go here belief. Both have issues. Gungnir's was challenged by someone who put up a possible EMS issue if you need saving. A better example is a hospital denying care because a patient cannot pay. The other way would be in effective too, because it may make some places less desirable. Don't pay taxas for better schools, you'll have schools that may make state minimums if not be labeled as a failing school and shutdown.
