Donald Trump wouldn't know what unity is if it bit him on the pecker. A man with his history of namecalling during tweets does not want unity. He wants chaos.

Unity is a foreign concept to Trump. He believes in divide and conquer, in identifying his enemies and attacking them. He believes he serves not America, but his base. And his ego. The man has neither a sense of greater purpose other than Trump, nor the ability to be introspective and accepting of those who are on the margins of society. If he says he is going to unify, I suspect it is the various factions of the Republican party he is talking about.
A few months into his presidency. I watched it at work. Then I read comments on here. I doubt most of the people calling him Hitler and criticizing him actually watched it.
