Oh, no! A hidden agenda? Say it ain't so!

The Automation Agenda Hidden by the Davos Elite
By Kevin Roose

In public, many executives wring their hands over the negative consequences that artificial intelligence and automation could have for workers. But in private settings, these executives tell a different story.

I make a good living maintaining automated systems.

Right now, we are enjoying unlimited voluntary overtime.

That's because we can't find enough new employees to make-up for the ones that got picked-off by other companies.

If you want a bright future, if you want to be in demand, learn automation.

Yeah, but coal miners are obsolete, right?

As usual, leftists can't maintain a consistent standard because they don't stand for anything except expansion of the state bureaucracy.

Poor example since coal mining kills the miners and poisons the land and water. Not everything is justified that preserves jobs.

That’s something that can trace its origin to the Industrial Revolution. It’s bound to happen as companies try to maximize their profits. The easiest way for them to do that is through automation.

Ai and automation won't bring disaffected rural voters to the polls the way blaming the Chinese and Mexicans will for job losses.

Even if automation did kill way more jobs than any illegal immigrant or Chinese manufacturer could.
