I don't know exactly. There is a rumor floating around the internet you can tell how old bleach is based on chemical levels. I guess thats why bleach has an expiration date. Who knows if that is why or not?
It could be a scented bleach or specific brand, and they can maybe match up, or just add it to the puzzle. If he had "rose scented bleach" on him, and he has it at home, that is pretty good evidence though just a small piece of the overall investigation. Plus if they can tell differences in brands, or batches, etc. I do not know.
I have been trying to follow the facts and not leap to conclusions. But it feels like we are pretty safely in Occams razor territory now.

1) A MAGA hate squad sent a threatening letter and then tracked down a minor actor just as he was coming home via a back door at 2am in a polar vortex, the duo managed to flee the desolate streets without being picked up on any cameras. Around that same exact time some associates of his who live several miles away decided to go for walk around his block and were picked up by several cameras.
I'm sure some clever person has already said this but it's worth repeating. Smollett thought he was being written out of the show but the producers denied it. Well, now he will be written out of the show! It's called a self-fulfilling prophecy. People with low self esteem self sabotage.

Unless, of course, you did something wrong at some point during the alleged crime that made you the alleged victim.
To answer someone's question about video footage: As far as I know, these 2 guys are the only other people that the CPD was able to find on any footage while following Jussie's route that night. If I remember correctly, they had every second of his route with him in sight except for that 60 seconds where he disappeared somewhere, and then reappeared apparently having been "attacked".
No other "person of interest" or any person at all has been seen on any video footage. Which, makes complete sense considering it was 2-3am, and it was freezing in Chicago that night. Most people are going to be in bed, and those who are awake, aren't going to be out there walking around in freezing temps. With the wind chill - that cold gets you right to your bones - no one wants to go on a stroll in that. I love the cold. I'm usually the only person I know who is happy when it keeps snowing, and happy when it freezes over, and even I don't want to go for a little stroll in that type of weather.

I don't know if he'll be written off the show, but I do think the show's ratings will tank---and his rap (or singing?) career as the self-deemed "gay Tupac" is dead in the water. I just hope his feet are held to the flames.
