I think he'll get about 6 months, maybe 10, but what do I know about how they do things in Illinois? Maybe that's just what I think he deserves.

From the prosecutor's point of view trials risk acquittals, especially in urban Chicago. Remember the OJ trial? I believe he was innocent but you won't find too many other liberal white Jews who think he was.
If he doesn't plead guilty to all charges and throw himself on the mercy of the court, he should do a year or two in jail. He's wasting the courts time and should absolutely have to pay for the court costs as well as police investigation costs.
