This was playing over on CNN, there's surprising outrage from a Hollywood lawyer attacking a
Michelle Obama aid who had text communications with Kim Foxx, the state's attorney, with this case.
It would be interesting to see those text messages lol.
If he's innocent as he claims, why seal the entire case?
The grand jury indicted him, so some of the evidence was already shown to a panel of grand jury.
There's something not right with the state's attorney not on the same page with the CPD.
According to the CNN trial attorney, losing the $10,000 bond means he is not exonerated,
it would be given back if exonerated, explains the backdoor deal that surprise the CPD and Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
The judge should've given him a gag order so that he can't take a victory lap with the
entire case being sealed, because now he's claiming he's innocent through the airwaves.
I guess it helps when you have friends in high places lol.
How could the police chief be shut out of the plea deal and where is the DA that made the deal. The Grand Jury recommended indictment on 16 counts and he gets off with $10,000 fine, that doesn’t come close to even covering the police costs.
The latest I read was that he did not actually sign the police report. That played a huge role in what they could/could not charge him. So aside from all the typical grumbling can we take a second to comprehend that all the moaning from all sides was possibly over an event the alleged victim would not officially acknowledge???
The folks in Chicago are not coming off well from any angle...
What is just flabbergasting to me here is the absolute lack of common sense being shown (not you).
Think about it folks, an "exonerated of all charges" person doesn't forfeit his bail money nor does he do community service as a condition of the exoneration.
The kicker is that the plea agreement, which is what happened, is sealed.
He pled guilty to a misdemeanor of some sort (my guess is something about filing a false report) and is on some sort of probation before judgement program.

there really is not much similarity and attempts to draw parallels are ridiculous. That said, it's all over for smollett while trump is still facing a great deal of investigation, fines, and possibly prison time for crimes related to his business dealings. If it was not collusion that had him carrying water for putin, lying at every turn both trump and several associates, then what is it? We will find out eventually.
Why is everything being covered up and so many disagreements between the police and prosecutors and others involved with the investigation. Someone called in a favor for sure.
