Trump lies, insults, bullies, brags, etc. In other words he's a just an obnoxious jerk. People don't like him. That includes the media. Don't like it? Start your own media company.

This is why these boards are useless when deciding to discuss anything about the sitting President - no matter who he is. Few here are open to considering other's views. Most are biased and we just get a back and forth between the same IDs. Unlike in past years tho the vehemence from the one side which includes name calling, shaming others ect.. is worse and it speaks volumes about those people.
Despite all Trump's failings - the left is upset with themselves - at least I am - that their party can't get their act together and put someone up - not because it's their turn or they're black or they're a woman - but because that candidate will appeal to people and have an agenda that doesn't change weekly depending on who they are addressing but encompasses things that all can get behind - no matter how far right or left they may be.
I usually give a President, Senator, Congressperson or Governor 2 years before I decide to support him/her.
However, Trump lost me during his campaign when he ridiculed a handicapped reporter and when he ridiculed John McCain's war record. His continued insulting Tweets about anyone who disagrees with him devalues the presidency, IMHO.
I don't knee-jerk hate on any elected official until it's proven to me that person doesn't reflect my values or is unfit for office. Trump lost me before he was even nominated on both counts.
Interesting thing about what you point out and Trump, since I too like to consider someone's record before deciding whether to support them for office or continued office. Thing with Trump, however, we had no such record to evaluate. No voting record on all the issues he is now pursuing like a spoiled child. No record of public service to consider in terms of where his commitments and ideology truly lie.
What we DID know, however, you'd think would have kept him from even getting to that stage of some other 16 GOP contenders for POTUS, let alone front and center, but... a) you had a GOP without backbone or leadership, so Trump was ushered in by way of that vacuum coupled with b) enough of his own money to short-circuit the process of getting/earning the right to be there and c) Trump supporters were so in love with the fact that Trump was not a politician (far as they were concerned), it really didn't matter what Trump said or did!
Note: having enough of your own money to avoid the influence of special interest money in our political system is seemingly a good thing in some respects, but that we need billionaires in order to avoid that problem is not exactly the sort of solution to that problem Americans want.
No matter to Trump supporters either way. Trump can shoot any of his supporters on 5th Avenue, tell us what women will let you do to them if you're famous, give hush money to Stormy (never mind why), a wall that Mexico will pay for, seeing thousands of Muslims cheering in New Jersey on 9/11...

With his constant actions, Trump is basically walking around with a blinking sign that says "KICK ME". Then when the media kicks him, he and his avid followers whine about it.
If a public figure doesn't want to be called stupid in the media, it would seem that the first thing to do would be to stop doing stupid things.
