The Republican party is a private organization, not a part of the federal government.

Modern historians think Sherman's March to the Sea is over exaggerated based on hard data in Georgia and the victim culture the Lost Cause perpetuated after the war.

It also likely saved lives by shortening the war.

The irony being, of course, that if any of it had been changed, then they wouldn't be here today to complain about it.
I've spent 25 years researching the development of South Carolina, from the time de Ayllon arrived in 1526, bringing the first black slaves to the New World. I have a 200 page timeline on the subject, citing more than three hindred references.

I will be happy to compare my research with yours any time. One of us will certainly learn something.

Has anyone brought up the millions of innocent foreign civilians the U.S. federal government has killed since WWII?

Southeast Asia comes to mind.
