Isn't the original post the definition of racism? Here's what I gleaned from the post:

Americans can reproduce and grow the population as much as desired, and they can consume as many resources as they want. They can create as large of a carbon footprint as they want. However, others are not allowed to obtain this quality of life. You must stay in your own country, and you must keep your carbon footprint, lifestyle, and quality of life at levels lower than Americans, otherwise the world as we know it will come to an end.

Native born Americans aren't growing the population -- their fertility rate is close to neutral.
Immigrants on the other hand tend to have much larger families.

America should put more effort into becoming more sustainable, especially in creating new methods for alternative energy -- we all agree with that point.

But an easy thing we can do now to help our environment is to end immigration, and stabilize our population growth until it's neutral.

It's not racism to want to protect your own turf. How about this instead. People in other countries seek a better lifestyle and quality of life in their own countries? If we can do it so can they. I'm not opposed to legal immigration in reasonable numbers and for those who will benefit us not be a burdern but not to the point that it takes away our own qualify of life and lifestyle. Seems reasonable to me.

The Sierra Club was forced to do that, otherwise they would recieve no support from their mostly democrat base of supporters.

Shutting down coal plants and saving whales is admirable no doubt.
But ending immigration would have a far more tremendous impact than nearly everything else they do combined.

Stabilizing the population and preventing future population growth will have the greatest positive impact for our environment.

Environment > People

It's not racism at all -- I'm just putting our environment before people, which is the right thing do.
Everyone and everything is dependent on the environment, so it's imperative that we keep it in a good state of health, even if that means letting the world know that "America is full, go home!"

This is just another attempt to blame a class of people for the ills of the world. Hitler famously did just that when he blamed the Jews for everything wrong in Germany. So here we are 80 years later and the hate is the same although the cast of characters is different. I am not buying it.

How does allowing in 1 million legal immigrants a year in keeping with our ability to supply them with jobs and resources without it negatively impacting our own citizens equate to hate?

The southwest U.S. is literally running out of water in many locations.

Too many people, too much development.

California needs a massive overhaul of its water infastruction which would cost hundreds of billions.
California is going to eventually crack, it's already under tremendous strain -- made worse by legal and illegal immigration into the state.

Their over consumption of resources, the pollution they create, and the environmental damage they cause.

America's increasing population (mostly via immigration) will only place a heavier burden on our environment. People who move to America (or other advanced nations) end up using more resources, have a larger carbon footprint, and release more pollution into the environment than they would have if they had stayed in their home countries.

The environment is the #1 issue of our times.
Currently there is a mass extinction under way of animal and plant species on the planet, in addition to more dramatic climate changes. Deforestation and human created pollution play a major role in these negative environmental changes.

The biggest impact western nations (or other advanced nations) could potentially have on improving their environment is to stop all immigration into their nations, both legal or illegal.

Population stabilization is the only realistic way to prevent further environmental destruction, and to achieve this stabilization advanced nations will have to cease allowing in immigrants.

"When immigrants come to the United States, they do not maintain the traditional lifestyle of their home country. Rather, they quickly adapt to the American lifestyle. As they do, they become greater consumers and polluters; their individual ecological footprint increases. For example, the carbon footprint of the average immigrant is 302 percent higher than it would have been had s/he remained at home."

Environmental Impact | Federation for American Immigration Reform

Your thoughts?
You need to stop missing the forest for the trees. Much more environmental destruction occurring in places like India and China.

Your point?

Lifestyles are much harder to change than our immigration policies.
