All of this hand wringing about things people did as college students or when younger, in a TIME when kids did this type of stuff is ridiculous. I don't care if he's Democrat, or Republican this is a political lynching (pun intended). He should not step own over this issue. This crap needs to stop.

The vast majority of criminals get a better break, they're protected by a statute of limitations, after a few years, their misdeeds can't be punished..

I would tend to agree with you but at least in this case he did something tangibly wrong as an adult vs Kavanaugh when in high school and vs those Covington high school kids.
The far left brought us to this point with their political correctness brought to utterly ridiculous levels. They will need to ratchet it back if society is to come to its senses again. It is bad enough that the words racist and sexist no longer have any meaning given all men are labeled as sexist and all whites as racist. No longer can the true sexists and racists out there be identified and called out for what they are.

One additional thought. My guess is that the outrage coming from the left over this is in part motivated by their not wanting him to be a distraction in the 2020 elections, and in part due to the fact that his replacement is black. That will partly amend for Abrams loss in Georgia in their warped scorekeeping system. Jump on me if you will for saying it, but that fact surely hasn't been lost on the Democratic powers-that-be. These days everything on the left is about race and gender.

Whine about the far left all you like, the fact is Kavanaugh's college roommate made credible claims Kavanaugh had lied under oath to Congress and it was the right(that impeached Clinton for lying under oath to Congress) that refused to investigate them and gave him a seat on the SCOTUS instead. Double standards aren't much of a standard at all.
