Probably not in our lifetimes.

The republicans would NEVER nominate a gay person and the democrats probably wouldn't get enough votes from the moderates they need.

I say close to zero chance of having an openly gay president. I personally wouldn't have a problem with it, and maybe after the old grey suits clear the playing field, there might be a better chance. Each new generation brings new change and ideas. The religious right's heads would explode and I would find that highly amusing.

I listened to him talk the other day and I found him to be intelligent, and it's unfortunate that he wouldn't be accepted as a viable candidate based on who he loves, but a male first lady? I don't think people are ready to change hundreds of years of tradition.

America will be a very different place in 50 years. It makes me sad knowing that I won't be here to see it. My generation and the last hasn't done a good job of managing our country. Lets hope the next generation does better.
