The problem is that raising taxes to that level, even though it's on a progressive scale, is a slippery slope. It's only the radical Socialist Democrats starting point. After that, your success and your wealth will be limited to what they think it should be. The rest will go to support the illegals and the other parasites that want to survive off the government hit.

It is astounding that so many people are falling for this socialist claptrap. Anyone that thinks the government should manage your health care, your energy, your bank accounts, and every facet of your life has rocks in their head.

We are raising a generation of idiots, brainwashed into thinking that they don't really have to do anything for themselves, and it doesn't bode well for the future.

That 100% flies in the face of the actual research published by Chris Hogan.

Quote:
Ninety-four percent (94%) of millionaires say they live on less than they make, compared to 55% of the general population.

When we did the research (survey of 10,000) and listened to their stories, we discovered that few millionaires won the lottery or got a huge inheritance. You know what we saw? Work. Lots and lots of grueling and gritty, dirt-under-the-fingernails, nose-to-the-grindstone, hard work. Wherever they are and whatever they’re doing, these men and women work with intensity—and all that hard work has paid off.
Folks, I can’t emphasize this enough: becoming a millionaire is about work. Ninety-three percent (93%) of millionaires said they got there by hard work, not big salaries.

Again,

What's the point of taxing the rich at 70% above 10 million if they're not going to actually pay much more than they are now "if they have a good tax guy"?

If you're not going to actually increase revenue by any meaningful degree......

Why bother unless you just care about looking like you're sticking it to those evil rich people?

That made Schultz spit up some coffee.
They agree with a 70% tax rate or they agree that the wealthy should pay more? There is a huge difference.

Unless you are a surgeon, you only get to be a millionaire in this country by owning things. Most people's only asset (if they're homeowners) is their house/condo. It takes a lot of capital to own a business or a huge chunk of shares in a business which most people will never reach.

And of course more millionaires live below their means than everyone else, as the general COL is the same for everybody, so the more you earn, the easier it is to live below your means

They agree with a 70% marginal bracket on dollars over $10,000,000

Even if the rich have to pay more they will still be rich. This may be an issue for Trump at election time.
That's not even close to the truth. The tax cuts benefit everyone. If you are rich, chances are you will build upon that. If you are poor and tx cuts help you get a better paying job due to expansion you are moving up the ladder. No one goes from near 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye unless you win the lotto.

Perhaps it's an attempt to offset some of those taxes they aren't already paying because of their good tax guy or are you of a mind that questionable behavior should be rewarded and things should stay the same?

Now answer my question, why are you still online given your prior statements?
