These politicians from both sides still have accepted that they were resoundingly rejected by the voters, they want to continue the failed policies of the past and hope things go back to how they were when they were in charge before Trump.
What was the reelection rate to Congress, again? In the 90th percentile, IIRC.

It's a Constitutional issue: Can a president go to Congress for money, be told "No", and then declare "On second thought, this is actually an emergency, so neener!" That's blatant abuse of the emergency powers.

Republicans defy Trump on national emergency

Resistance from GOP senators could expose a split in the party and force the president to issue his first veto.

It's hard to believe that so many of you Socialist Leftists actually act like the it's some kind of joke that these illegals are pouring in here and bringing drugs, crime, disease, and God knows what else. You think the solution is drones like that is really going to help. We are not delivering Amazon packages. We are trying to stop our citizens from being raped and murdered and victims of the parasites that disobey our laws.

What part of that is so hard to understand? Pardon me if I believe the boots on the ground; those that have to deal with this trash every single day. Pardon me if I think the left is just as bad as the scumbags they protect and sympathize with more than the citizens that are victimized. None of you give a damn about any of them but the minute something happens to an illegal you howl like banshees.

Walls and barriers were fine when YOUR leaders wanted them, but now someone finally wants to do something about it and you call the guy every name in the book, all because you ran an idiot for President and lost and are still seeking revenge. How do you expect to do anything in 2020 when you haven't gotten past 2016? I don't know if this border situation is a true emergency or not, but something has to be done and I'm all in on whatever it takes.

If it's a national emergency, shouldn't he be doing it now?

And even if he does declare the state of emergency, it'll be weeks if not months before construction of "The Wall" starts.

Donald Trump is such a stupid person.

Trump's presidency is playing out like the plot of Gilbert & Sullivan's schmaltz operetta, "The HMS Pinafore".

NYET, TOVARISCH.
Comrade Don can do one better - END the state of Emergency declared in 1933, when the USA went bankrupt.

That would collapse the People's Democratic Socialist Republic, fir shir.
Void the national debt, for fraud.
Repeal 12 USC Sec. 95a,b
Repeal FICA
And try to return the stolen gold money back to its rightful owners (or heirs).

We voted against that monster the Democrats were foolish enough to run.
AOC will destroy the Democrats, who foolishly let her control the narrative. Pelosi has lost control of her party, and the New Left is simply ignoring her.
A total of 110,000 people EVER voted for AOC, and yet here is the Democrat party, letting her set the tone.

Don't you think it will be more of an end-around?
Trump ignores congress and gets it done, anyway.

This thread is not about ginning up fear for your current rightwing bogeyman. There are plenty of threads filled with frothing at the mouth rightwing with hysteria about AOC, so take this to one of them.

This thread is about how Trump has put the GOP in an untenable position. Got anything to say about that?
