If it had historically been Muslims doing the terrible things to gay people in the US, we would be using that instead of Christians. We aren't talking Birmingham, UK here, Hrw.
Not to mention that the post you responded to misrepresented what was said in the first place. No one said anything about there being a class dedicated to that, or that the teachings would only be about that, or anything of the sort. The only reason I used "good Christians" is because that is who was doing the bad things to gay people, historically, in the US. They are also the main ones freaking out about their kids possibly learning about gay history.
