The term "social democracy" is largely ignored because is doesn't generate as many clicks.

Tiny does not mean anything... numbers do, and we are 20%-40% more efficient. Depending on the site you look at.

Any kind of socialism is self destructive.

And i don't like the unhealthy diet. Mostly meat and fish, many of which are salted to preserve it through the winter. Fresh vegetables and fruits are a rarity and very expensive. And super cold and dark half the year. No thanks. I would rather live in USA with all its faults than in Norway. And you would rather live there than here. Good for both of us.
Well.. no!

Meat and fish salted to preserve it during the winter?
Have you completely lost it? We are not living in the 1800s..

I can walk down to the tiniest local shop right now, and buy fresh fruits, strawberries, dates, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, apples, pears, blah blah blah...

We even have refrigerators.. *GASP*

. Norway, Iceland, Denmark... they are wonderful countries. The US produces most of its aluminum in Iceland because of the efficient geothermal power. Lots of other interesting things like that that can be pointed out.

What can't be neglected in the conversation is that these countries have a lower percentage of the population that relies on welfare. In part it's due to job opportunities and pay, but it's also because (for now) they don't have as many moochers. That's changing, and I think these countries will find at some point that welfare not only creates dependency, but it also creates complacency and even resentment for the recipients. You would think the response would be gratitude, but human nature doesn't like to be reliant on someone else for its well-being. They may not even be aware of it. The more the welfare rolls increase, the more problems you get with negative attitudes and entitlement, which long term leads to increased petty crime.

Your argument is a bit myopic with all due respect. Denmark, Sweden and Norway are countries were the vast majority of people are "givers" and not "takers." USA is a country where we have so many "takers" you can't compare us to these nations.

Denmark, Sweden and Norway are the perfect storm if you will. Our country is not!!!!!

One of the few rare thing Republicans seems to respect, is the Military service members..

So you respect people who chooses to go into a socialist organization, that is supposed to fight and die for the US, so every American can live in a dog eat dog society and just look out for themselves and don´t care what happens to their fellow Americans. And will absolutely not pay any more in taxes to help somebody who is in need.. because if you are in need, you are lazy and should get a job.

Makes sense..

If this is a problem for you why are you not at the school board meetings?

Socialism rewards the lowest common denominator! So what's the use of busting your behind to succeed?

I think socialism has turned into an excuse for lazy millennials to remain lazy and be rewarded. Why would anybody with half a brain want to participate?
Those professional sports team owners seem to be doing ok. They are totally on the taxpayers dime.
