There was a long process of character assassination carried out, literally for decades, and people just drank it in with their kool-aid.
I think the whole idea of a "co-President" as a First Lady was too much for some people to handle. Her push for Healthcare reform was the right message and policy, with the wrong messenger for that time.
I have always had issues with the way she worked while Bill was President. Not because she is a woman, but because I don't like nepotism and family dynasties in American Politics.
That being said, there was a whole lot of misogynistic tactics that were used against her. Pretty easy to rile up the knuckle dragging elements in the electorate against her.
Perhaps God allowed Trump to win to teach us not to follow cruel, vindictive, amoral demagogues. Or to out the Evangelicals and the rest of the CINOs for the frauds that they are. Or to show us how the U.S. is allowing the very dregs of humanity to assume power, and where it could lead if we don't take the power away from them.
Enough, God! We got it already! We'll fix it in 2020!
Yes she STILL LOST....with 3 million more votes. Unfortunately we have an Electoral College that values a vote in Montana more than a vote in a state where millions of people reside. Considering what we`ve been watching for 2 years how can anyone still be spiking the ball over Hillary`s loss?
Oh...but if the electoral college favored your idol, Hillary, you would be praising the EC.

Actually, I interpret it as "Go away kid, yuh bother me."
Note - last May, a dear friend of mine was diagnosed with lymphoma. He was quite ill, and everyone was good and scared. As of today, he has completed treatment and has every chance of living as long as his parents did - into their 90s. We're both atheists, as are our families, and praying to god had nothing to do with it. It was modern medicine. 30 years ago, given the same diagnosis and condition, he'd have been in the ground by now.
