Yes, the Democrats were the party of slavery, of Jim Crow and lynchings. Unfortunately for them the Republicans ended all that, but in the 60's the Democrats slowly realized they could reinstate their plantation system, this time by keeping minorities in the inner city plantation and keeping them voting for them by impoverishing them.
Trump's share of the black vote in the last election was in the single digits...about 5%.
I think black people can judge what party represents them and which does not better than you can.
The whole "plantation rhetoric" is nonsense made up by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and Ingraham.
It is very insulting and paternalistic for someone who is white to say they "know what is best" for black people. Black people have made that judgment and virtually all of them say the democrats do a better job of representing them than republicans do.
In the 60’s, the Democrats pushed through the Voting Rights act and closely aligned with Dr King. A partnership that continues to this day even after his assassination. Have no idea what you are talking about by your inner city plantation comment. If you are referring to the War on Poverty, I’ll remind you that program was a benefit to all races.
Actually that is not true..LBJ so called 'Great Society' actually created a monster. It created 'Generational Welfare' that even Bill Clinton couldn't stop with his workfare program which Obama gutted.
The 'Great Society' welfare program created more problems than before it was created.

Throwing money at the problem has neither reduced poverty nor made the poor self-sufficient. Instead, government programs have torn at the social fabric of the country and been a significant factor in increasing out-of-wedlock births with all of their attendant problems. They have weakened the work ethic and contributed to rising crime rates. Most tragically of all, the pathologies they engender have been passed on from parent to child, from generation to generation.

Trump at 36 percent approval among African-Americans, new poll finds
David Duke, former KKK Grand Wizard, explained to Vox in an interview from 2016 why White Nationalists and Ku Klux Klan members voted for and support Donald Trump: https://www.vox.com/2017/8/12/161383...david-duke-kkk
And Never forget: "The Crusader," which is a KKK newspaper, formally endorsed Donald Trump for president.

That's because it's always been a stupid meme. The left should refuse to believe it too. David Duke now says he supports Rep Ilhan Omar (D,MN). Louis Farrakhan supported President Obama. Does this mean Democrats are the party of anti-Semitism? By your "logic," the answer would have to be 'yes.'
You gotta remember, these are the same people who can't let go of Hillary or Obama. It seems they are doing that to avoid what they are seeing from their boy in the WH, much less painful for them that way.
