What is completely wrong is for a soldier to take a prisoner out into the desert and execute him, and then attempt to hide his crime. That is murder.
Based on every report I've seen that isn't what took place, if this guy's story is even remotely true he was justified in removing this POS from the gene pool.

OP, one cannot cherry pick rules and regulations to follow. Yes, we have a hyper-partisan mentality in our nation at present, but just because faith in our justice system and acceptance of our very laws have been intentionally undermined and sabotaged it does not mean any one individual is above the law. Civilian or military.
This needs to be handled properly and not in the court of public opinion.
