While the proponents admit some air travel will always be necessary, they are apparently unable to grasp how much infrastructure it would take to replace domestic airport travel. Or how that is manufactured.
My personal area of interest, agriculture, is completely misunderstood at a basic level, also. The writers of this deal obviously had no idea how to even contact an environmental academic to learn about the net gain of carbon sequestration by cows and other grazing ungulates ( hooves herbivores, like deer).

Or this was a lazily written proposal.
Not to mention the airline industry needs an economy of scale to keep air travel affordable. Airplanes, maintenance, fuel, and crew cost the airlines a ton of money... the cost to design and build airplanes is extraordinarily high, therefore manufacturers have to build a large number of planes to keep the per-unit costs down.
Green new deal is further proof that AOC is too idealistic for her own good. She lacks practical experience and knowledge and portrays herself as though she's still a starry-eyed college kid...
Maybe we should go back to the dark ages. Forget what we all accomplished huh? This is so silly
