NY Gov. Cuomo meets with Trump over SALT cap. What should Trump do ? Cuomo has been all for wealth redistribution

Cuomo has been all for wealth redistribution before and now that he gets a taste of it isn't happy.
I can't imagen why.

This supposedly happened today but haven't heard how it went for Gov. Wimpy Cuomo.
The first thing Trump will have to do is take the Governor's thumb out of his mouth and encourage him to stop crying.

Cuomo to meet with Trump to seek end of cap on SALT deductibility

Cuomo indicated he will argue that the federal tax law is a redistribution of the wealth of richer states — almost all of which are dominated by Democrats — to poorer states, mostly dominated by Republicans. Cuomo said wealth redistribution is a liberal or socialist idea that Trump and Senate Republicans have said they oppose.

I got a kick out of this...

Mr. Cuomo is blaming the state’s $2.3 billion budget shortfall on a political party that doesn’t run the place.

...
The Tax Foundation reported last month that repealing the cap would “almost exclusively provide tax relief to the top 20 percent of income earners, the largest tax cut going to the top 1 percent of earners.” The government would lose $600 billion over 10 years. This must be the first time in years that a Democrat has said the government needs less money, or that the rich need a tax cut.

Oh, as soon as a Trump fan whispers in Don's ear that his "tax reform" is fleecing his own base, Don will attempt to make changes. But I don't think that is easy...isn't is a LAW that requires an entire process?

This reminds me of when Reagan lowered taxes and then had to vastly increase them.

"What is less well-known is that these cuts were then followed by a series of tax increases that, if you add them all together, were almost as big as or even bigger than the 1981 cuts, depending on the measure you use."

But I'd bet Reagan fans still think he cut taxes.....they probably also say he didn't give full amnesty.

You may not believe it but this thread is about Cuomo and Trump.
That's the only history that is really going to be important on Cuomo getting anything he wants. It don't look good for the Gov. with his recent comments about Trump and his support for infanticide.
Cuomo needs to suck it up. He wanted redistribution of wealth and he got it.

Let's blame Trump for everything. No other politicians are involved. Trump made federal, state and local govt's get themselves into debt and screw things up decades before he ran for office. An evil genius plan crafted by him alone.

Liberals need to look at themselves in the mirror to see the true problem face to face.

The democrats are confused. They don't even know what they stand for and its becoming so obvious.

They get what they want and then decide its a bad idea and they don't want it anymore.

Oh, the tax gift was largely a GOP effort. It would be giving Trump WAY too much credit to suggest he would know how to create a tax reform plan. The GOP knows how to do it...by borrowing from our kids and blowing up the budget deficit.

Trump did say he would balance the budget. Do you think he will? Projections are for over a trillion a year going forward.

Not sure how you can bash Trump for this... other than TDS..

The SALT taxes give a tax break to the lower classes, but not the rich. That's exactly what liberals want. Or is it... ??
