It's a total takeover by the government.

Quote:
"Build on FDR's second bill of rights guaranteeing:

A job with a family sustaining wage, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security".
So, telling businesses how to run their own business.

Quote:
"Economic security for all who are unable or unwilling to work."
How many people do you think are going to take advantage of that "unwilling to work" part? And since they won't be working, who is going to help fund the "massive investment"?

Quote:
"This is a massive investment in our economy and society..."
Quote:
"A Green New Deal is a massive investment in renewable energy production..."
Quote:
"The Green New Deal is a massive investment...we cannot simply tax gas...So we're not ruling out a carbon tax..."
Quote:
"The level of investment required is massive. Even if every billionaire and company came together and were willing to pour all the resources at their disposal into this investment, the aggregate value of the investments they could make would not be sufficient..."
So where the hell do you think they're going to get the money? The people. And if you have a big chunk of people saying, "Whatever, they're going to pay me whether or not I choose to work", that reduces the amount of people they are going to be able to rob.

And remember, they want this done in 10 years.

Quote:
"Even if all the billionaires and companies could make the investment required, they would not be able to pull together a coordinated response in the narrow window of time required to jump start major new projects and major new economic sectors."
So, again, I ask, where do you think they're going to get the money?

Quote:
"We're just saying that the level of investment required will need every actor to pitch in and that the government is best placed to be the prime driver."
Government money = what was taken from tax payers. Every actor = every single tax paying citizen.

We've got so many stories about people whining about their taxes and how much less they got back, (so they say) because of Trump tax cuts...just you wait until socialist barbie gets her mitts on your money.

Why else is it stupid?

Quote:
"We set a goal to get to net zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren't sure that we will able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast..."
Get rid of cows and airplanes. And of course Cory Booker is in with that since he's been yelling that the meat eaters days are soon over. He wants to raise the price of meat so high, that people can't afford it. So loss of jobs and livelihoods by ranchers and those who work in any capacity in the meat industry, plus, raising prices on food so high to try to get people to stop eating it only hurts the poor. Those who have money are still going to eat meat, but hey, we need to get rid of cows and jack up the price of meat - because the left hates animals and poor people.

Oh, and my favorite:

Quote:
"Ensure that all GND jobs are union jobs...."
They also prattle on about "oppression" and how we're all going to pay to stop that "oppression" in some communities. There is no damn oppression in this country, jfc.

So you can sit there with your warm fuzzy feelings about "muh environment" while they empty your wallet to make them wealthier.

And you ask "what about it is stupid"? Really?

It's already imploding. The establishment controlled Democrats are furious with the "progressive loons" for putting this plan out there without their blessing.

One wonders what was said to "Sandy" O-C to force her to pull it from her website after she so "proudly" promoted it to the world.

Well, considering the GND is a gimmick in and of itself, it's only fair that this is the treatment it gets.

This is just a waste of time, aren't there better things for McConnel to spend his time on like infrastructure or the replacement for the ACA.
No.

House speakers are too busy bragging about One Dollar.

You want specifics.

What type of specifics do you think you will ever get from this woman?

New Green Deal = COMMUNIST TOTALITARIANISM !

If your senator vote for NGD then he/she is your worse enemy and you should punish him/her.

I expect the entire first month of debate will center on the comparison of cow farts vs vegan farts... and which one we should outlaw first!!!
