Since the nation seems poised to go down the road where the POTUS can sidestep congress, what do you think should be the FIRST national emergency priority for the next Democratic president. Given there are many serious issues, you may assume this emergency would not be the only one declared as the others would be expected to eventually follow suit.

Too many white, heterosexual men with "toxic masculinity".

Well, weapons are protected by the current constitution. Healthcare situation isn't great, but it's like the border issue... not really an emergency situation.... and national healthcare is not the solution. So that only leaves one other one from that list... Eh.. my guess is something related to climate change... like pollution control or something.

Oddly, the only 'National Emergency' going on right now is the office of POTUS.

I don't think Dems should use it, and I don't think Trump should be using it. It's not an emergency. You can't call something an emergency that you've let go on for 2+ years since you've been in office. It wasn't urgent then, it hasn't changed. He is using this as a political tool, and it shouldn't happen.

Either he can get the votes, or he can't. That's it. An emergency is a storm, a major fire, a flood, etc. Not an ongoing problem.

And FWIW, I heard Beto O'Rourke said he'd take the wall down around El Paso if he could. I think that is stupid too. I'm not really in favor of building the wall, at least not until the laws are reformed, but it would be STUPID to take already built walls down. That's as much a political stunt as Trump's side-show circus. No better.

Reparations.....Every victim gets $$$'s for X (insert your victimhood here). As a woman I guess I should get excited by that, I'm being told so often that I was a victim for just being female apparently.... as someone with somewhat of a brain.... probably not.

I really dont what comes first. Eventually the leftists will take over, take away the citizens rights and the USA will be a dictatorship run by the left. Then the trip to Venezuela will be fully underway.

Any of the poll options would be more legitimate than faking the border crisis to build an ineffective wall

Now that the flood-gates have been opened, they will probably declare emergency to fund all their pet projects like universal healthcare, and education, while de-funding GOP pet projects etc.

We can increase gun regulation (mandatory background checks, gun licensing, serial numbers on bullets) while still preserving the 2nd Amendment. Gun control is not gun confiscation.
