And we are disincentivizing having children? How so? Because the incentives - running from free education to child tax credits - aren't enough for you? You're saying unless taxpayers, including singles who never had children, fork over more of their hard-earned money to pay for your kids' daycare, we are disincentivizing having kids?
The biggest deterrant is the hospital birth ($15k), and all the prenatal care ($1,000's). Then at $2k/month for daycare per child, your talking shelling out over $100,000 from conception until f-ing 1st grade. That's like almost two years of my pay!

You don’t have insurance? Guess you need a better job before having kids then.
Your numbers are bogus. A non-complicated birth in a hospital can be done for $5,000. Or get a midwife and do it at home for $3500.
I have insurance, but it still has a $5,000 deductible and copays
Then you’re not paying $15,000 plus thousands more for having the kid. You’re paying the $5,000. Stop complaining about what you’re not paying. It’s your kid. They’re expensive period. These days a half million to adulthood.
And the $24k/year for daycare? Does insurance cover that? (Sarcasm)
If you’re living in an area where daycare costs $24k/year you need a new job. Just another thing you’re googling and using the top range number for. The actual average is $7300 for toddlers and $8200 for infants.

First.....you don't have insurance that helps cover that cost?
Second, assuming you were irresponsible and didn't get insurance, dividing by years 0 - 6 costs you around $17,000 a year. But you get child tax credits, bringing that down to $15,000. After that, though, taxpayers are providing free education, free or reduced lunches, and Medicaid (if you're poor enough). You want us to provide for your kids pre-K, also?
And you say you earn more than $50k. Why can't your wife stay home the first few years, and save on all that day care expense? Then, when the kid is in first grade, she can go back to work. Even is she gets a modest $30k a year, you're bringing in more than $80k. And you still want single people earning $35k, $45k, to pitch in MORE to help you with your child care costs?

Yeah, I earn $60k right now, and it's not enough to support two people here let alone 3, unless you literally want to live in "the hood". It's not California or the 95 corridor, but COL is high here in Phoenix. So yeah my fiance works so that we can live halfway decent
