You've got to ask yourself what the GOP is so afraid of, that they are going to such extraordinary measures to try to counter Cohen's testimony, though, don't you? The fact that he was the Deputy Finance Chair of the RNC might have something to do with it. He probably knows things they'd rather not be disclosed.

If Cohen has evidence to back up his testimony, it will make Trump look like a crap human being. But still probably won't be enough for a GOP-controlled Senate to actually impeach.

Should give dems a huge boost in 2020 though, if Cohen does indeed have evidence that Trump committed financial crimes during the '16 campaign AND while in the White House. That would be really bad.
And it will do nothing to cause his supporters to not support him. No matter what Cohen has.

I'm reading he's bringing documents with him. We'll see. I don't think anyone is just wanting Cohen's word in any of this.

From what I've read, there are only a few states that require two party consent to record. Ethical? Maybe not. Illegal? Probably not.

Mueller has evidence to back up what Cohen is saying. Mueller raided Cohen's properties to collect all kinds of evidence.

It's amusing Individual 1 supporters are saying they don't believe Cohen yet Individual 1 believed Cohen for over 10 years and thought he was good enough to have access. Cohen will provide some credible testimony. Cohen is aware of all the evidence Mueller has on him. He has no reason to remain loyal to Individual 1. It's in his best interest, to be honest. Cohen doesn't want to be made an example of like Manafort.

Quote:
When Cohen, Trump’s longtime personal fixer, publicly appears before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, he will testify to the following things, according to reports in The Post, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times:

Cohen will “for the first time publicly accuse the president of criminal conduct while in office related to a hush-money payment to a porn star.”

Cohen will “offer ‘very specific details’ — some of which have not yet been made public — about arranging the hush-money payments at Trump’s direction.”

Cohen will “discuss how long Mr. Trump continued to ask about plans for a Trump Tower project in Moscow after the Iowa caucuses had taken place in February 2016.”

Cohen is “expected to recount racist remarks Mr. Trump allegedly made to him, including instances in which Mr. Trump allegedly questioned the intelligence of African-Americans.”

We should view everything that Cohen says through the prism of his supremely oily and dishonest history, and the possibility that he’s now lying for self-interested purposes.

Quote:
However, Mueller has determined that Cohen, who pleaded guilty to lying to Congress and is cooperating with the special counsel’s office, is now offering “credible” information that is “consistent with other evidence” it has gathered.

The GOP is being prudent, they know that the Fake Stream Media will do their best to run with whatever Cohen has been coerced by Mueller's merry Band of angry Demonicrats to say....good for them. Of course, all they really need is Trump to Tweet out a few zingers to destroy the admitted Rat liar.

Cohen is a convicted liar trying to save his own skin.

Whether he was lying then or lying now, his testimony isn't worth jack. Only the desperate fools will give him any creedence.
