Segregated schools ended back in the 60's. The Equal Rights Act was signed around '64 I believe, and many of today's blacks STILL blame "whitey" for their plight!
"whitey" gave them FREE education through high school, gave them black teachers to teach them, black school administrators to enure thy got a "good deal", black mayors , black Chief's of Police, Affirmative Action to put them at the head of the line for jobs, entrance into colleges, AHEAD of whites, etc. free gov't housing, or at a very reduced rate, food stamps for food etc. free phones, yet may STILL CAN'T "get ahead".
But it is "whitey's fault"

THANKFULLY tens, probably hundreds, of THOUSANDS of blacks HAVE taken advantage of the opportunities offered to them and ARE "living the American dream"!

If the unemployment rate for blacks was zero and salaries much higher, why would that endear us to Trump? He’d have absolutely nothing to do with it and would deserve no attribution whatsoever....nor would he get any.

What you term "pandering" is actually a party that cares about diversity and the rights of all people. I realize that is a foreign concept to the Right, but they better catch on or they will become the smallest group of Congress people in the history of this country.

Under Obama the unemployment rate for black Americans fell by 8.2%
Under Trump the unemployment rate for black Americans fell by 0.9%.
And Donald Trump claims to be the job creation King for black Americans.
The KKK officially endorsed Donald Trump for president, Trump calls poor African countries "shi- hole countries, and Trump calls KKK members "fine Americans",
