And that's why we're number 1 in the world as measured by children's health/mortality. Oh, wait...we're not. In fact, compared with 16 other first-world countries - we're dead last. https://www.theatlantic.com/health/a...d-last/267045/

"The news is that this is across the lifespan, and regardless of income," said Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association, who was not an author of the study. "A lot of people thought it was underserved populations that were driving the statistics -- the poor, the uninsured. They still are a big part of our challenge, but the fact that even if you're fairly well-to-do you still have these problems shatters that myth."

Organized religion's input on abortion must be mentioned, as well. The Catholic Church's opposition to legalized abortion partly stems from the fact that its clergy is the world's biggest organized child sex trafficking ring. By outlawing abortion, this exponentially increases the number of their potential victims.

And, many conservative and Evangelical Christians, who are opposed to legal abortion, are also strong proponents of large military spending in the USA. They favor doling out meager social and health care benefits to the needy and deserving (if any, at all). The offspring of the poor are more likely to be used as cannon fodder for our military in the event of another declared war, than are their middle class counterparts.

What nonsense. I assure you that trafficking in children is not why they oppose abortion. You should be ashamed of spreading such nonsense.

And more nonsense. Know what sort of war the US could face that would involve needing cannon fodder? The kind where TONS of folks-rich and poor-will die. More nonsense. Theyre not about this either. Lets not act like those trying to paint pro choice supporters as blood thirsty baby murderers. Be better then this.

Most rich people don't go to war. Most bought their way out even when I was in during Vietnam. My father said it was the same during WW2. The poor fight most wars.

Nevertheless, it goes to show you how they care about kids after they're born. It's is so sick and disgusting!

I've actually seen some conservatives on this board post that if Roe v Wade is ever reversed, they want to go after Griswold v. Connecticut next. That's a largely forgotten SCOTUS decision but it legalized contraceptives in all 50 states. Before that, states could ban all forms of birth control.

After the 13th and 14th amendments were added to the constitution. The constitutional changes caused the reversal.

At first I was indifferent about it. But given the circus that has occurred since September courtesy of the Democraptic party from Kav to Virginia to the recent Senate vote on abortion, I couldn't care less it it was overturned. Maybe it's time for this country to get back to its values.

SB13 being promoted by extremists in Oklahoma would ban emergency contraceptives, the type that prevent the fertilized egg from being implanted in the uterus. Fortunately, the whole thing is so extreme, it's not expected to go anywhere.
