I agree that man is born and not created, therefore can choose to do good or evil.

Oh, and let's not forget that the vast majority of people are able to live their lives without committing genocide or other henious crimes.
Fear of punishment defeats hope of reward...in some cases.

3 million people in the Florida prison system.

Man is born a tabla rasa, blank slate. He/she LEARNS evil from those around them. There are a few twisted, mentally ill people who were born "evi"l (bad seed), but they are rare. Maybe Hitler was one of them.

Exactly, in some cases.

Most people don't do horrible things--at least on a regular basis--because of the threat of punishment, more like because most people aren't that evil.

I've had many opportunities to murder and rape and I most likely wouldn't have been caught. I mean I could get away with pushing someone in front of that train or could've raped one of those passed out girls at various parties during my teenage years and would've most likely got away with it. You know why I've never raped or murdered anyone? Because I'm not a rapist and I have no intention of ever murdering anyone.

I certainly am NOT a fan of Hitler. He was very evil. However, I am wondering why this part of the Holocaust story was never told: Hitler's hatred towards Jews was fueled because before he came into power, the Jews controlled everything; The Germans went hungry and were virtually stepped on and despised by the Jews. The Jews were starving the Germans with a heavy hand. What Hitler did was wrong, but the Jews weren't totally innocent either.

You forgot that they still control everything and that they use the blood of gentiles in their religious rituals...

Where the weirdos coming from lately?

Or. What about when the jews invested big bucks into Britian and the allies? :P

The jews are always a good scapegoat. They keep their head higher than many others, which in return, makes them the target. Black Plague, everyone said the jews started it. Just like in the 30's and 40's when Hitler said that the jews were the cause of everything.

Good question.

I await the appearance of the perennial Protocols post...a sure sign of Spring.

Both Hobbes and Locke defined the Age of Reason, the Enlightenment era which our Founders lived in, and our Founders learned their philosophies.

Both Hobbes and Locke thought man was inherently evil, Homo homini lupus.

if so would Israel State have been created, would France and Germany still be enemies. Would the European Union ever been created? Could have someone more evil took the place of Hitler if he wasn't around? Would have the soviot taken over all of Europe and then North America? I can go on and on, about different possibilities if Hitler wasn't around.
