I could do a long list. Spaceships to the Moon would be right up there.
Typing on this computer would count also.
A bunch of Socialists running for President are on the list.
It's not time yet....I think eventually the internet and peer-to-peer communication and organizing may spell big changes in government systems. But institutions change slowly.

You'd be surprised how stable much of the western world is. If you bought insurance in 1800 from Lloyds of London, they would still pay up today...or, if you found the ship of gold they'd want the money they paid out back.

Nothing much new under the Sun. What is new is that many people are not wired to process the information and communication available today - so they are misled.

When I was in contracting people often asked me why they couldn't install something (wood stove, coal stove, etc.) like "in the old days" because "their grandfather did it that way".

Our answer was "well, back in those days if there was a fire and someone got burnt up 2 valleys away you didn't hear about it".

That sorta reflects on the information situation today. Most people are simply not equipped, educated or experienced enough to process what is now available. This may take a generation to sort out.

But here is a VERY relevant question. What is the largest rally or protest every held in this country with the purpose of breaking or splitting up the country?

To my knowledge it's fewer people than fit in a bus. But maybe you know more????

Armchair Generals by the millions are watching Faux and shaking their fists. That's about as far as it goes.

Malarky.

California is the largest producer of food in the U.S.

Red states may have to do without subsidized corn and soybeans, but I suspect they can figure that out.

What exactly do the blue states need from Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, ...

Much of its water comes from Colorado which has voted blue for several presidential elections.

Yes, RED California is the largest producer of food. Blue California is the largest producer of bullshlt.

I agree. I am a conservative with no strong religious leanings and I see the "Bible" issues as unnecessarily divisive. Sexual orientation, religion and abortion should not be politicized.

Are you proposing that not only the nation split up, but each state split up as well?

This ought to be a good time.

Yes, leave the left with the Island/Archipelago of Liberalism that would mostly consist of NYC, LA, SF and other urban dumps. Hey, maybe Vermont can feed all those people on its own.

As long as we get the wineries and the walnuts.....

Of course, once "red" California is emptied of illegals...and venture capital and wind machines...and all the other stuff, there won't be anyone who wants to live there anyway. As it stands, "Red" California contains some of the worst places in the State....and even the country!

#1: Fairbanks, AK
#2: Visalia-Porterville-Hanford, CA
#3: Bakersfield, CA
#4: Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA
#5: Fresno-Madera, CA
#6: Modesto-Merced, CA
#7: El Centro, CA

Those are worst particle air pollution places - Red Ca. gets 5 out of 7 there.

This "Red Nation" sounds like it is shaping up to be a real Paradise. Maybe we can herd them all in there and open iPhone factories to give them $4 an hour jobs (of course, there will no min. wage among other "freedoms").

No.

But we should move Federal powers to the states. That way blue states can be blue and red states can be red. There is a role for the Federal government in national defence, public lands, and public policy.

Send the state functions back to the states.

AND THIS IS IMPORTANT.....redraw the state boundaries so that the state reflect their local values. I have lived in Northern California, north Idaho, eastern Washington, and NEVER had a someone that represented me on issues.

So redraw the state boundaries. Send more authority back to the states. That 10th Amendment should mean something more important than the Commerice Clause of the Constitution.

So, you are saying we need another civil war?

You're showing off how little you understand about how this Constitutional Republic works.

God help us if a majority thinks like this.

Not sure..but here in Washington state ALL the electricity is generated in the RED counties in eastern Washington.

Back in 2000, there was a lot of talk about the grid going down. The local PUD kept getting questions about 2000 and finally said....if the nation wide grid goes down...we are disconnecting. We will stop shipping electricity to western Washington. So the lights would have gone out in Seattle.

Check to see where your blue state is getting electricity.

California a few years ago said they were boycotting Arizona. Fine, Arizona said ok....does that mean we can shut off your electricity?? California filed suit in Federal court to make Arizona continue to supply California with electricity.

BTW...your corn and soybeans come from red states in most cases. Almonds come from California. Almonds are a good food...enjoy them. And lettuce, plenty of lettuce from California....share them with your rabbits and then you can kill the rabbits.
