And I respect your right to your opinion. However you infer that you are complex but others are simplistic? People that see things black or white are one-dimensional? Or could it be that they don't see a gray area? They see clearly right or wrong. Some could say others are wishy-washy, blowing what ever way the tide goes. Perception is reality or so they say.

I infer nothing. I was merely speaking for myself about myself. Where does this come from. If I have something to say, I'll say it directly. I don't need to mince around. I am trying to be polite, respectful, get my views out there and hear others. How on earth did you make this wrong? How did it become about someone else.

I apologize if I offended. I guess when you said you don't see things black or white I interpreted it that you look down on those who do.. sorry

Thanks for the apology. I hope you understand that if I have something to say, I'll be straight and not make a crooked statement. But do expect me to make jokes. It relieves the tension!

I'm neither for or against any party.

The republican party, if they KEPT TO THEIR BASIC PRINCIPLES, would be great for this country. Instead they've turned into this abomination that is nothing more than an extension of the church.

Dems aren't much better, but at least they keep their nose out of my business for the most part.

Honestly? If I could pick my leaders for 2008 in an "Ala-Carte" fashion, I would elect Rudy to President, with Obama as Vice. That combination might actually work.

...and HONESTLY, I don't want a response from the right wing on this. Surely you realize by now that you lost all credibility with me in 2004, lol. Your opinions are like the ramblings of a lost drunk.

I put down independent... I'm not registered in any party, I don't know... I think generally I'm left of the Democratic party but right of most Socialist parties, so would that make me an independent? I guess.

You're right.

Dems take it straight out of your wallet via tax money.

Bush takes it out via higher energy costs, unbridled health care costs, and finally ZERO penalties to US Corps exporting jobs out of the country.

In case you didn't realize it, each time a new job is off-shored, that person who lost their job is now left to compete with the rest of us, for less jobs. A few hundred thousand of those people in the same sector and *poof*, the salaries "automagically" come down.

I miss taxes, lol.

Nationally I find I identify a bit more with the Democrats but I wish I could pick my leaders "ala-cart" like YapCity.

However, locally, I think that one party has been in power for too long and have no challengers (not that I'm a huge fan of Republicans, but I think it would be easier to get a pig to fly than to get one elected around here, even if they are an 'old school' republican, whom I don't mind so much), and I'm not sure that the one party system a good thing as city hall has become a cesspool of corruption and nepotism (and has been so since the days of Al Capone, so one cannot blame it on a specific party, just entrenched power) that only came under scrutiny when the Feds stepped in.

Quite frankly, I'm disgusted with the whole process.
